Hooking Up a Home Theater System?
I am looking to buy a home theater system but I want more clarification on hooking it up. I am looking at a Panasonic 1200W 5.1 Channel System (model: SC-HT940). At home I have a LCD TV, a Wii (composite), a XBOX 360(component), a Playstation 3(HDMI), and a VCR/DVD combo(composite). Will I be able to hook all of this up to the reciever without having to switch back and forth? Can I just leave it all hooked up to my TV and then just hook my TV to the reciever and still get the surround sound? Basically, if I want to get surround sound from whatever medium I am using, does it have to be hooked up to the reciever, or can I leave it hooked up to the TV?

Have a look at :
Ihope you find the info.you need.
According to Panasonic's website this system only has one audio input. Thus, you would have to do all of your audio switching through the TV if it has a sufficient number of audio inputs to handle all of your sources that you have now and anticipate you may have in the future. Sounds like you will need to have 4 inputs on the TV for the components you mention. This is in addition to whatever source you use for television viewing. There are video switchers you can buy that will accommodate more sources if you run out of inputs but I would recommend buying a system with more than one audio input.
