Sony Component Home Theater System HT-DDW790 wire length?
I have recently purchased a new HDTV and decided that it was time to upgrade our home theater system. At this time, I'm not looking to spend much at all since the TV was already expensive enough. I have settled on the above mentioned HT-DDW790. I know it is far from the perfect system but its price is very attractive. My only concern is that that surround speaker wires will not be long enough (they come already pre-attached so their length cannot be changed). The room I plan to use them in is about 16X18 ft. I was wondering can someone who owns one of these are simply knows, exactly how long are the rear surround speaker wires? Additionally, if you have any comment/advice about my situation or decision I would be more than grateful.
Thanks!
The problem I heard with splicing is that is will greatly reduce the audio quality. That is why I would wish to say away from that if possible.

Here is some simple math. Assuming your receiver is in the center of the 18' wall and the speakers are going to be on the corners of the opposite wall, you will need the wires to run 9 feet to the corner of the front wall and 16 feet down the length of the side walls (25 feet). Now add however many feet you need for the height of the speakers up the wall (2 feet if on a table, 4-8 feet if mounted on the wall). Now add however many additional feet you need if the speakers are going to be placed somewhere within the corners on the back wall. Basiscally for a room that size you will need somewhere between 30-40 feet of wire for each speaker depending on where you are placing the speakers.
If you are short on wire, you can always splice in lengths of speaker wire.
